THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM | Matthew 13:1-23

JESUS WAS A MASTER STORYTELLER. PEOPLE FLOCKED TO HIM. PEOPLE HEARD HIM GLADLY.

He shared stories.

The definition of the word PARABLE is: A SIMPLE STORY USED TO ILLUSTRATE A MORAL OR SPIRITUAL LESSON, AS TOLD BY JESUS IN THE GOSPELS. By the way,

I found it interesting there are three types of parables: IT HAS BEEN NOTED, SINCE THE LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY, THAT THE PARABLES IN THE GOSPELS FALL INTO THREE GROUPS. THESE ARE USUALLY GIVEN THE NAMES (1) SIMILITUDE, (2) PARABLE, AND (3) EXEMPLARY STORY (SOMETIMES CALLED ILLUSTRATION).

The Root of the Problem is not about the preacher, messenger, seed-planter. The real Root of the Problem is based on the receptivity of the hearers’ hearts and minds.

Oh, and it is not the fault of the seed either.

Come join Pastor Fuller as we explore the parable of the seed, the soil, the sower.
