Living BY TRUST IN HIM
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (CSB)
We are to trust God with all of our heart. Wise Solomon reminds us this is a task we are to do on a daily basis.
We do not depend on ourselves. We have all faced disappointments which have led us to believe we can depend on ourselves, pulling ourselves up by our own bootstraps, getting out of difficult situations with our own self-efforts. Added to this people will say things to attempt to encourage us:

“Pull yourself together!”

“Pull yourself up out of that terrible pit.”

“You can get yourself out of this depression! Just do it!”
See the problem? It is by self-effort and living the life God has called us to means unlearning unbiblical lessons of self-effort. We are meant to rest in God’s understanding, by surrendering ourselves to Him in TRUST. We may know in our minds that He alone possess all wisdom, but sometimes trusting Him is tough and difficult. So, each day we must lay aside our own plans and expectations, trusting in Him.
Pray today, committing yourself that you will depend on Him and Him alone for all you need in the good and the bad. He has a plan for you; He is working out His purposes in your life and He wants you to trust Him to do abundantly, wonderfully more than you could ever do on your own.
